iCloud sync
When enabled, ClipSlop mirrors your prompt library across every Mac signed into the same iCloud account. Add a prompt on your laptop, it shows up on your desktop seconds later — same mnemonics, same shortcuts, same provider overrides.
What syncs
- Custom prompts and folders.
- Mnemonic keys and per-prompt global shortcuts.
- Provider override per prompt.
- Display mode per prompt.
What does not sync
- Provider credentials. Your OpenAI / Anthropic API keys live in the macOS Keychain on each Mac and are never sent through iCloud. The free ChatGPT sign-in OAuth tokens also stay local.
- Transformation history. History is in-session only — never written to disk, never synced.
- App settings. Theme, opacity, launch-at-login are per-Mac.
Enabling sync
Open Settings → iCloud Sync and flip the toggle. ClipSlop uses CloudKit under the hood — the data lives in your private iCloud Drive container, not Anthropic's or OpenAI's servers.
If you turn sync off, your prompts on the local Mac stay; only the connection to iCloud is cut. Other Macs keep their copy.
